Master Teachers

Onawumi Jean Moss the amazing storyteller.

Currently eleven master teachers are available to interested storytellers. They are Judith Black, Mitch Capel, Heather Forest, Jeff Gere, Baba Jamal Koram, Bill Lepp, Janice M. Del Negro, Loren Niemi, David Novak, Limor Shiponi, Medicine Story, and Brother Wolf. Click on the Master Teachers link above to listen to each of their opening lectures and decide on which teacher you wish to submit one story a month to over the next three months.  The number next to each teacher’s name indicates how many spots remain for students to work with that teacher.

You work inside a closed circle with the other students and with your teacher. You follow the rules laid down by your instrutor. Only students inside that circle can comment on your story while the commentary is still open. As an Apprentice level member, you may listen to the ongoing discussion and stories in the other ongoing masters’ work. You are welcome to comment on Performer level stories.

Each of the Master Teachers can take up to two students at this time. We may increase the number later this year. But for now all teachers are limited to 2 students. When you sign up on the Master level, you will receive an email requesting that you pick a teacher.  Please make sure to indicate your top three choices in case your first and secosnd choice are full.  Please check the teachers page to see if they are available for students.

The teacher you pick will be a three month commitment on your part. You are encouraged to listen to the interviews on the Art of Storytelling Show (One hour) and welcome lectures (5-10 minutes) with all the teachers you think you might like to work with. Once you decide which master teacher you wish to work with, then you will need to send an email requesting confirmation of the spot. Once you receive your confirmation email you are all set to go! Your confirmation email will include the phone number and other instructions you will need to send in your stories.
